Why a rear basket bicycle dog carrier you ask? If your little furry friend is too large to safely ride in one of the front bicycle carriers we offer, then this rear bike dog basket may be just what you need!
However, please also consider a bicycle trailer. NOTE: This bike seat dog carrier must be placed on top of a bike rack or bicycle frame (not included),
available at most bike shops (recommend a 6-7" wide, flat surface)!
To keep your pet securely nestled inside the rear bike basket, a 3-point safety strap (attached to the interior floor) is included that attaches to your dogs harness (collar not recommended). The Pet Rider is constructed using a foam form (sides and bottom), a rigid floor support (between foam layers) and a quilted nylon cover (with a black sherpa interior). 3 built-in nylon mounting straps and installation instructions are also included.
The bottom of the bicycle seat dog carrier has a foam channel (6-7" wide) that fits snugly on most rear bike racks. Bike racks up to 7" wide will normally fit in this channel which keeps the bike carrier from sliding around on the bike rack. The bottom foam channel also acts as a "shock absorber" giving your pet a comfortable ride and a fantastic view! Additional straps secure the bike dog carrier (3 in all) to the frame of your bicycle.
